Buddy Hart was created by Artwurks Unlimited as a friendly, recognizable mascot for Hartford 311—giving the city's public-service system a character residents could connect with. The project transformed a practical municipal service into a more approachable visual identity, extending Buddy across campaign graphics and branded apparel designed to make Hartford 311 easier to recognize and remember.

Buddy Hart gives Hartford 311 a recognizable personality—helping transform an essential city service into something more approachable, memorable and connected to the community.
Creating a character with a purpose
Buddy wasn't created simply to be a mascot. The character was designed around the role Hartford 311 plays in the community: helping residents find information, report issues and connect with city services. A friendly personality, expressive features and Hartford-inspired visual language helped give the service a more human presence.
Extending the identity into the community
The visual system was designed to move beyond the character itself. Buddy Hart became part of a broader Hartford 311 identity that could appear across promotional materials, apparel and community outreach—creating a consistent, recognizable presence wherever residents encountered the service.

The applications shown here are especially valuable because they prove real deployment: campaign artwork, installed signage, and the physical Buddy Hart figure. That makes this section much stronger than another set of mockups.
